Sample Projects

It was very difficult for me to choose appropriate samples. I didn't want to use ones that my 390 students already saw last semester, or ones that were too technical, or ones that overlapped too closely with topics that current students are researching. I can post additional samples later in the semester, or send them to you on request.

People doing investigative projects should review Sample 8, but people doing creative projects should review Sample 9a and skim through Sample 9b. Everyone should review Sample 10.

Use the rubric on pages 12-13 of the syllabus ("Instructor Project Review Sheet"). The rubric has 12 rows, and for each of the 12 rows you can rate the project as "developing," "competent," or "exemplary"... the starred criteria give the reasons why. Note that there is a similar rubric on page 11, but you can ignore that for now.
