Please sign up for a conference time on Google Docs if you have not done so already. Email me if you are not shared to the document or if you want the list as a PDF attachment.
What we discuss at the conference depends mainly on you. Could be the Introduction + Lit Review that I am currently grading. Could be the Methodology + Analysis that's due at our next class on 4/2 in Innovation 129 at 7:20pm.
You will find six new samples in the Sample Projects tab above. They vary pretty widely, so you can get a look at how different BIS students write their Methodology and how they organize their Analysis.
Oh, and if you missed the 3/5 class, there is a Powerpoint deck from the citation workshop that you'll find helpful. If you open your Docs inbox, I shared it to you.
4/2 Class Preview: Our main exercise will relate to your methodology section. Exciting!
Writing Center: If you want a follow-up on the citation session, or want to arrange a session for anything else, their website is here.
Graduation-Related Announcement: A student asked me to remind you that the Registrar will be sending out notifications about academic honors within the next week or two. They do make mistakes, so check into it if you think you should be included.
Bonus: Interesting article about the MLA adding a citation standard for tweets, and what it means for the fate of the world. Reminds me of some scofflaw who was finally confronted by the President of the MLA after making fun of her on Twitter for two years.
Bonus: Some good temporary pictures for those blank pages in your Analysis.
Thanks for the temporary pictures, Aaron. I found them to be to a pleasant distraction. I needed a good laugh in between all of this academic reading. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm finding that technology is not wanting to agree with me the last 3 weeks. I have images to include in my paper and presentation, but my darn printer is not communicating with my computer in any way...so I'm at the "take it to someone else's computer and printer to see if I can scan them in successfully, cause I have some pretty good draft work going on here.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we're getting darn near to the "do whatever works" point for that sort of thing.
